How do I download a file?
Downloading files over the internet is as simple as "point and click"!
Whether you are using Netscape, Internet Explorer, or some other
web browser, the procedure is very similar. For example, on our
download page, click on one of the file download links,
such as: MAXI Form v1.9.
After a few moments, your browser will prompt you with a question about the
file.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer (IE) will open a dialog box and
ask you if you want to "Open It" or "Save it to disk". Select
"Save it to disk", then press "OK". IE will then open another dialog
box to prompt you for a file name and location to "Save in"
(folder/directory). Usually the default name and folder is OK, so
press OK. The file will then be downloaded and saved in the selected
folder. If you decide not to download, then press "Cancel" on either
of the above dialog boxes.
Netscape Navigator/Communicator
Netscape Navigator will open a dialog box saying "Unknown file type" and
ask you if you want "More info...", "Pick app..." or "Save file...". Select
"Save file...". Netscape will then open another dialog
box to prompt you for a file name and location to "Save in"
(folder/directory). Usually the default name and folder is OK, so
press OK. The file will then be downloaded and saved in the selected
folder.
If you decide not to download, then press "Cancel" on either
of the above dialog boxes.
What do I do now?
Our files, and most others you will download from the internet are in compressed
or ZIP format. See How to unZip for details
about installing files from ZIPs.
Good luck and have fun!
